Join us at West Kingdom Collegium for two days of fabulous and fascinating classes! We will be offering several tracks of classes all day Saturday and Sunday morning. On Saturday evening, there will be a potluck dinner in the hotel's Presidential Suite, followed by general merrymaking! The dinner is open to all attendees, and there is no fee; however, donations are gratefully accepted, with all proceeds will go toward activities and site amenities at future Collegia. If you are interested in contributing to the potluck, please contact Vittoria Aureli (contact information listed below).
Class signups for limited classes will be held the day of the class at gate for the event, in the foyer outside of the Shasta conference room. Additionally, a Kingdom Officer's Meeting will be held in the Monterey conference room beginning at about 1:30pm on Sunday. As a thank you to the teachers offering their time and energy for Collegium, there will be a breakfast held for Collegium instructors on Saturday morning. More details will be forthcoming.
Because of the short time some have between classes, we have made arrangements to allow the "pre-order" of lunches at the restaurant on Saturday and Sunday. Simply be sure to take one of the pre-order forms available at gate and fill it out. Additionally, there will be an Artisan's display hosting textile arts and other art forms at Collegium on Saturday from 1 to 4. Be sure to stop by and take a look!
In a special arrangement this year, the Inter-Kingdom Intensive Needlework Symposium (IKINS) will be held in conjunction with Collegium Occidentalis at the same site; please see the IKINS ad in the Page for details, or join the IKINS Yahoo group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/IKINS/ to access the Registration package. Additionally, there may be some IKINS classes available for Collegium attendees. Please inquire at gate for more details.
Site Information: Doubletree Hotel San Francisco Airport (835 Airport Blvd, Burlingame, CA 94010). Site fee is $12 for members and $15 for non-members; children age 6 and under are free. Hotel accomodations are available at the special rate of $85 per night for single or double occupancy, and the price is guaranteed from Thursday to Saturday evening. Please be sure to mention that you are with the SCA when you make your reservation. For the site fee, please make checks payable to “SCA, Inc. – West Kingdom.” Parking will be $8 per night per vehicle (half of the normal $16 price!), but only $5 for day trippers.

Directions:
DRIVING: From the North (San Francisco and San Francisco Airport) - Take Highway 101 South to Broadway/Burlingame exit (East).
Go east over overpass; remain in the right lane. Turn right at the first light (Old Bayshore Rd) and left at the next light onto Airport Blvd.
Follow the road around until you see hotel on your right side, approximately a quarter of a mile.
From the South (San Jose):Take 101 North and exit Anza Blvd. The hotel is on the left side. AIRPORT SHUTTLE: A free shuttle runs between SFO and the Doubletree 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. PUBLIC TRANSIT: Take BART to SFO and pick up the hotel shuttle to the Doubletree. From the South Bay, take Caltrain to Millbrae and transfer to BART there, or arrange for a ride from the Burlingame Caltrain station, which is approximately a 7-minute drive from the site. |
