In the spirit of Extending-the-Feasting-Season-as-Long-as-Humanly-Possible, the Shire of Caldarium invites you to join us as we once again fill our tables with the finest food in the Kingdom. Greet the New Year and drive away the Winter’s cold with Friends, old and new. Enjoy casual games, music, song and fun. Please bring a dish to share.

Take US 101 to Marin County. Take the E. Blithedale exit and go west (toward downtown Mill Valley). Continue on E. Blithedale until you get to # 463, on the
right side of the street.
Additional Notes: On your way from the freeway, you cross Camino Alto and then pass Mesa Rd on your right. 463 is just a few houses down from Mesa Rd. Parking on the north side of the street.

Chow down with the Cathars, Fraternize with the Fraticelli, Loll with the Lollards, Hang out with Heathens, Snack with Sinners or Dine with the Divine! The Choir or the Fire – Your Choice!
Just be there for Caldarium’s Interdenominational Winter Feast & Inquisition featuring Saints, Heathens and Heretics and all manner of Rebellious Revelry.
Bring an appropriately-named dish (Saintly or Sinful) to share, and be ready to display your knowledge of saints, miracles, medieval heresies, pagan practices and personages, etc, in informal trivia matches and other Inquisitorial Games….Contact the Autocrat for potluck suggestions and to rsvp.

Live Chess Game – March 28, 2009
10 am – 5:00 pm
Brain meets Brawn as fighters take the parts of chess pieces on the field as the real chess match is played upon the board. Knights, Bishops, Rooks, Kings, Pawns and the Queens’ Champions will battle it out for supremacy on the squares! Each class of pieces will fight with a designated set of arms, as determined by our Chess Master, Sir Mark von dem Falkensfenn. (More details about the procedure/rules to follow)
Arts & SciencesDemos will delight passers-by and newcomers alike. Join us in celebrating the advent of Spring with a Potluck Luncheon Feast and other outdoor activities in the beautiful Miwok Meadows.

Afternoon Feast: Join us for a Potluck Feast for Primavera (or, Spring-Theme-Eats). The groaning board will include small birds (Cornish, quail, or spring chickens, if you will), provided by the Caldarium populace to hopefully nourish and mollify the Fighting Chess Hordes. The site has a very large barbeque pit and many picnic tables.
All visitors, guests, foreigners, and friends please bring one of the following according to mundane last name:
dessert or bread/cheese-type appetisers: A-G
vegetable-based: H-M
fruit-based: N-R
grain-based : S-Z
If you have a strong desire to bring a dish in a category other than the one designated, just let us know.

Caldarium’s Old-Timer’s Bardic Fest & Bard of Caldarium Competition – May 2007

at Old Mill Park Amphitheater in Mill Valley, CA Join the Shire of Caldarium for an afternoon of stories, songs, fine food, games and revelry, a fund-raising auction of strange and beautiful relics and objects of adornment, display of Kingdom history and memorabilia, and the crowning of the new Bard of Caldarium!
Spend a day amidst the beautiful Redwoods in the Shire of Caldarium as we celebrate the Bardic Virtues and Memories of Yore. Marvel as some of our most Venerable old-timers fill the Amphitheater at the Old Mill Park with songs and stories of the early days of the SCA! Cheer as talented hopefuls compete for the coveted title of Bard of Caldarium (or compete yourself)! Reminisce with Old Friends and meet New Ones! Witness amazing displays of ancient artifacts, regalia and other arts! Enjoy a potluck feast (there are small barbeques on the grounds; bring a dish to share and something to throw on the barbie. We’ll bring the charcoal).
